This Privacy Policy explains how the Pocket Alert browser extension (the “Extension”) handles your data. The Extension is published by ROMAN FRANK PR RAČUNARSKO PROGRAMIRANJE BEOGRAD (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and is a companion to the Pocket Alert service at https://pocketalert.app.
1. What the Extension stores
The Extension stores the following data locally in your browser only:
- Your Pocket Alert API key, used to authenticate requests to the Pocket Alert API.
- Your preferences: theme, polling interval, messages-per-page, and the desktop-notifications toggle.
- An unsent message draft and the last open tab, so your work is not lost when the popup closes.
This data is kept in the browser’s extension storage on your device. We do not operate any separate server for the Extension, and we do not collect, transmit, or store this data on our own systems beyond the normal operation of the Pocket Alert API described below.
2. Data the Extension sends
To function, the Extension communicates only with the Pocket Alert API at https://api.pocketalert.app over HTTPS. Your API key is sent in the request Token header to:
- Read your recent notifications and applications/devices.
- Send messages you compose to your devices.
- Mark messages as read.
The content you send (message title and body) is transmitted to the Pocket Alert API for delivery to your devices, exactly as if you sent it from the Pocket Alert web or mobile app. No data is sent to any third party.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not track your browsing activity, history, or the content of pages you visit.
- The Extension does not read or modify the websites you open.
4. Permissions
The Extension requests the minimum permissions required:
- storage — to keep your API key and preferences locally.
- alarms — to periodically check the Pocket Alert API for new messages.
- notifications — to show a desktop notification when a new message arrives.
- access to api.pocketalert.app — to read your notifications and send messages.
5. Data retention and removal
All Extension data lives in your browser. Removing the Extension, or clearing its storage, permanently deletes your API key, preferences, and drafts from your device. You can revoke the API key at any time in your Pocket Alert account.
6. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
